Is it they are not awaree of the problems, or just don't care?

Usually there's 2 reasons - the first is that they think they can make money selling puppies. The second is that they think their dog is just so cute it needs to reproduce. Every breed that becomes popular is going to suffer from bad temperaments in a few generations because of all the back yard breeders with no knowledge of genetics whatsoever jumping on the band wagon to try and make some money.

In reality just because a dog or a dogs' breed is known for haveing bad habits absolutely does not mean the puppys from that dog will have these habits, it all depends on the owner and how the puppy in question is raised. Like pit bulls and boxers for example, they can both be dog agressive and take strong willed leaders to controll them. More often we see bad behavior from small breeds of dogs because people 'baby' them and treat them like humans, when they are in fact dogs and see all the humans do as makeing them pack leader. so though small dogs bite people more often they can do less damage than a big dog and get bad names. The same goes for all behavior issues you see? People treat each dog differntly, some people understand that there dog is a dog and would bite you and put you on the ground if they felt the true need, while most dogs dont other behavior issues occur that people dont understand is just that dog becomeing fustraited or is angry at the people around it and itself.

Because people are greedy and don't care about the animals, just making money. Most pups that come out of the so called "puppy mills" have a multitude of health problems, yet people are willing to pay top dollar for these dogs. Especially the "designer breeds" like yorkipoos and morkies and chiapoos, etc. There are no guidelines to the breeding of these dogs, so you never know what you are really getting.

And Jessica, there are bad dogs! There are bad dogs just like there are bad people. Just look at the dogs that killed the lady in San Fransisco.

No They don't care, they are puppy mills, stay clear. Go to a good breeder. If you can't find one Go to AKC and they will help you. Puppy mills I close down every chance I can get I belong to PETA I have closed a few. I raise dogs but they are so spoiled and great they are all usually sold before they are born. I have a few born and I just don't like to keep them because I get too attached. Go to the pound and play with a few they will let you do that also.. ou can tell a puppy mill. dogs a stacked up, dirty puppies and unkept dogs smells no water no food poop all over it is just bad. they usually sell to brokers and that they get a small fee and if they sell to a Private party they sell for a large fee. so be very care full. Go to the police department and turn them in. They don care what they sell. the health is poor and they are usually sick. Good luck Lee Let me know Leeis-Lc @ hotmail.com

they are just in it for the money. Some traits like aggressiveness are sought after by dog fighters. I think a small segment of the dog breeding population is not aware of the bad traits that are being passed on, but the majority just don't care and want the money or the reputation for having the meanest fighting dogs come from their breeding pair

Most good breeders are aware of inbreeding, but due to having so many pure bred animals in general, it still happens. Most of the time bad disposition, and bad behavior happens because a bad breeder wants the blood line. The name on the blood line of that "bad animal" is what is important to that specific breeder.
