They bulldozed many peoples homes for parking lots, some of whose family has lived in for generations. Even tho they didn't want to move, they where forced to by harassment..

Is it really necessary to have a 4 story church? extremely hightech with tons of flat screen monitors/bose surround sound speakers...

The pastor makes over 100k a year and takes "love" offerings to help send his daughter to college.... the church seats around 3k people.

Does this sound very christian to you? what ever happened to hillside sermons... imagine if all that money had been diverted to those who really needed it.

you raise a good point there. I believe in the growth of churches but not the expense of someone else's home. Good sound in a church is nice but why all the extra's? Why would he need to take an offering to send his child to college when he makes so much?
Here is the problem -- people will use anyhting for personal gain including the name of a church or religion. It is not right and should be spoken out agianst just as you are saying here. Get verbal in the community. The church is running over people and have lost sight of what it is Christians are suppose to be doing here. THey are laying up treasures on earth and I pray then that they are laying up double that in heaven. Again I say get verbal in the community.

some great questions........while it is obvious that many churches
have become mega in size......the question ours faced was......OK....who do we tell to stay home ? Growth for growth sake is ridiculous and the purpose is to build the inner man.......yet in a modern world,,,things like bathrooms and child care facility and parking are necessary.....

Somecreative churches are increasing the number of services...somore people can worship at different times allowing for less sq footage........

Some others rent space in schools.....

I feel sorry for the peopledisplaced.....and if harassment took placethat is inconsistent and wrong

Religion's big business. You can't stand in the way of progress, even if it's progressing in the wrong direction.

That is horrible. That is why I do not believe in organized religion because they are all about money money money! Very sad.

don't you just love that? makes me sick

I came to the conclusion that most pastors were simply entertainers - they were putting on a show for their congregation in an attempt to get them to give money
