It has not been quiet, there still are rallies and marches around the Chicago area. The real problem with immigration is that both parties in the government are afraid to go into great depth on the issue because they are afraid of losing votes. The Republicans want to keep control of the House and Senate while the Democrats are looking for anyway to gain control. For the moment they will try to fix the problem by putting a band-aid on it until after the election year.

The public found out about it and how the Senate version was going to reward criminals for breaking our laws. Since Congress no longer represents the PEOPLE they're simply going to wait until after the November elections and then pass a bill that is Business friendly and against the public will. This way the public has an entire year to forget about how we got knifed in the back.
Stand up now and vote incumbents out of office regardless of party. Congress needs to represent the PEOPLE again.

Election time rolling around. Most politicians don't want to be identified one way or another regarding this hot topic. Kind of chicken **** that they are only looking out for #1 and not doing the job they were already elected to do. Some are going around conducting hearings on the topic but from what I heard they only want to hear from the people against reform, that way they can determine just how many people they may piss off if they vote for it and which politicians may be affected, that is voted out.

I think Congress and those attempting to 'buy america' suddenly realize that The People really aren't too keen on some of the unadulterated BS that's been flying around these last couple years...bottom line is, no matter what Sen. Fatbody might have to say about it, to all appearances the general national consensus seems to run more like 'America is NOT for sale, and NO you can't just move in'...or words to that general effect...they've made a real botch-job of our immigration policy, it's up to them to fix it.
Who's for drug-testing in Congress? LOLOL

The majority of the amercian public want to close the borders and send them back. Neither political party want to follow the will of the people and do it.
So Congress could not pass any law since the House would not accept anything that did not include enforcement, and the Senate would not pass anything that included real enforcement.
So nothing can be done, it was droped to move on to other busiess.

Because all of the toadies in Congress voted for amnesty and legalizing all the illegals, thereby voting against the wishes of their constituents.
They are all scared that they are not going to get re-elected and are hoping we will forgive and forget.
I hope none of them gets re-elected.
