I know someone who has had teriable headaches. Dr's found nothing, so they were put down as tension headaches. The chosen method of treatment has been to use pain pills. They worked at first, but got to the point taking a month's supply in a week. Mostly stays in bed, sick from not having pills the rest of the month. hydrocodone is what has been taken. Any chance to get off by yourself? Any chance at a full recovery?

Yes, a very good chance.

my sister was hooked on pain killers so bad that she would spend her grociery money(she also had 5 kids to feed) and buy them off the street. It took her loosing her children and going to prison to realize that what she was doing was gonna catch up with her. I am happy to say she's been clean for 2 years and in the process of getting her children back. So, yes it can be done if you want it bad enough.

Go to a detox. It wont be easy, but the doctor should know that those pills are very addicting. The person will be dealing with that addiction for the rest of their life. Try biofeedback.

I saw a man go on methadon unable to break this habit. The chances are about as good as a heroine addict, 2%.

I would venture to guess that like most addictions you are always recovering and it is never complete. Everyday is a new decision to be sober.
