yes you can.... It is the sarcoptic mange mite that is the same as scabies. Sarcoptic mange can infect all ages and breeds of dogs. While it prefers to live on dogs, this particular mite will also infect cats, humans, and foxes. Cats, foxes, and humans all have their own particular species of mite within the Sarcoptes family. Each species of mite prefers one specific kind of host (e.g.; dog), but may also infect others. Since all of these species of mites have a similar life cycle and respond to the same treatment, we will assume that the vast majority of dog infections are caused by the mite Sarcoptes scabiei and treat accordingly.

Yes you can get mites from your pet. If you think that you may have been exposed then you need to see your doctor since some types of mites can be very dangerous.

There is the story of the veterinarian who put ear mites in HIS ear to see what it was like when an animal has them.
Don't know if cat and dog mites are of the same species.

You definitely can catch mites from a dog or a cat for that matter. They can both carry the sarcoptic mange mite.......better known as scabies in humans.

Sarcoptic Mange is from mites and you can get it from your pet. Its also known as scabies in people and you will need special soap from your Dr.

You most definitely can. Make sure, if one ever latches on to you, to remove it with tweezers and clean the area out with alcohol or something.

Yes. You get lime disease very easily from ticks your dog can pick up in tall weeds. Check your dogs!
