My girl friend recenty joined the army and left for boot camp at Ft. Leonard Wood. I have heard from people that once she comes back she will be a totally differnt person. Does boot camp generally do that to people? what kind of changes in a person's personality are common? do people come out with different thoughts and beliefs? do they get bored of 'regualr life'? any elaboration would be very helpful!!!!

First of course it will make her more sure of herself, she will be stronger and have alot more phsycisal ability.

But they will also make sure she beleives that she can depend completely upon the military. And of course she will know how to use alot of various weapons she never ever knew about before.

She will be used to a very controled routine and want and need the regimented life of the military.

Of course you also understand that after basic she will go to her school where she will learn her job skills and duties she will do.
( often they go straight from boot camp without comming home)

Then she will be assigned a duty station. So how seroius is this relationship, are you going to be moving around with her ?
If not, you are looking at a long distance relationship that are hard to make work for long periods of time.

When she gets back she will want to do daily runs to stay fit and be ready for her next assignments

The description of Basic Training above is accurate. It is not difficult if you can adopt the mental attitude which the Army actually wants. Do not THINK. If you're given an order: JUST DO IT! Don't reason about it, don't argue about it; don't question it-even for a moment. Don't let ANY of these mental states come into your mind. How? The handiest way is to just do it--immediately! You will be so involved in doing whatever, that you won't have the mental space to get involved with the counter-productive states mentioned above. Do not project in your mind about what things may be like the next day. Put yourself in the mental place of being in the NOW. There was no yesterday; there is no tomorrow--there is NOW. You will have to work a little at staying in this mental state at first. Soon though, maybe after a week or two, they will become habitual. Stay in that mental place! If you can do that; and stay in that mental place; the Army is a piece of cake.

She will change, but for the better.

She'll have more confidence in herself. She'll may have the mindset to better herself and keep in shape, etc.

You really have nothing to worry about.
