Homemade Frappucino Drinks

Ingredients

* 1/2 cups (cold) strong coffee
* 2 cups milk
* 1/4-1/3 cup sugar
* 1-1/2 cups ice

Directions

(If the coffee isn't stong enough, I add just a little bit of instant granules to it.) Place all ingredients in blender and mix well (I put mine on blend and let it go until it's the consistency I like.)

I love these drinks but they are so expensive to buy at the store. I make mine ahead of time and re-use old water bottles to take them on the go.

Generic Frappucino

This tastes remarkably like a bottled Starbuck's Frappucino.

Ingredients
1/2 cup Espresso, cooled
2 1/2 cups 2% milk
1/4 cup Sugar
1 tb Dry pectin

Preparation
Combine pectin and sugar. Add milk and shake until sugar dissolves. Add espresso.

Cook's Notes
If the espresso is too hot, the pectin will gel. It it's too cold, the pectin won't dissolve. It has to be j-u-s-t right . This doesn't keep, so drink up.

1/2 cup fresh espresso
2 1/2 cups lowfat milk (2 percent)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon dry pectin

Combine all of the ingredients in a pitcher or covered container. Stir or shake until
sugar is dissolved. Chill and serve cold.
Makes 24 ounces.

Tidbits
To make the "Mocha" variety:
Add a pinch (1/16 teaspoon) of cocoa powder to the mixture before combining.
To fake espresso with a drip coffee maker and standard grind of coffee:
Use 1/3 cup ground coffee and 1 cup of water.
Brew once then run coffee through machine again, same grounds.
Makes about 1/2 cup fresh espresso to use in the above recipe.
Run a pot of water through machine, without grounds, to clean.
