What?? That's like asking what size clothing a 28 year old woman would wear - everyone is individual! My 6 yr old wears a UK size13 by the way, but that's not much help to you I guess

Has her Dad or you ever known her shoe size at a specific age? If so, then MAYBE you can estimate based on Shoe Market Kids website's suggested average growth..."Typically, a child 3 years old or younger grows either a 1/2 size or a whole shoe size every 3 to 4 months, a child ages 4 to 5 grows a 1/2 size to a whole size every 4 to 5 months and a child over age 5 typically grows a 1/2 size to a whole size every 6 months." So if you or your boyfriend can remember a shoe size she had in the past two years you might can use this a guide. I think the best thing to do is have her dad call her mom and explain the HE...(not you)...wants to buy her some shoes. Who knows, maybe he will catch her on a good day and she will be willing to see that this is solely for her daughter's best intrests and put aside her own jealous and selfish feelings. Or maybe he can get his daughter on the phone, ask her to look inside or on the bottom of her shoe and see if she can tell him what numbers she sees???

Most 5 1/2 years olds don't wear 4-5t (sorry!) it all depends on genetics, how much running around she does, how much she eats, etc. Your best bet is to buy a gift certificate for a little girls clothing store so they can pick out things that fit. Don't get one for someplace the adults can spend the money on themselves!

All kids grow their feet at different rates. That is why you want to go where they have shoes sizers the little girl can step on and then read her size. You really do not want to guess shoe size because too small or too long can hinder her normal growth.

Probably about 10-13 in toddlers. I'm not sure. I know my younger sister wore a 12 in Kindergarten. And my daughter, who is 4 and a half wears a 10.

My daughter wore that size at 12 months and I got her walking shoes at Wal-Mart all the time.

I would buy a gift certificate, or call your brother. Buying clothes for kids that are not yours and that you don't see very much, is tough. That's almost like a man trying to buy his gf/wife clothes, and they are too big/small. Gift certificate is the best way to go, and that will keep your sister in-law from pissing and moaning about it. Good luck! :)
