Tithe means "tenth" ... as in donating a tenth of your income to the church.
Since tithing is an old testament practice, there's no requirement to donate a specific amount, anymore.
God and his new testament church expect everyone to freely contribute time, talent, and treasure, according to their own ability.
As your Australian collection plate is technically upside down, you probably have to flick that spare change a little more carefully than we do, up here in the north.
So ... what the phark do you think about all that?
G'Day mate!

Tithe means 10% of one's income and it comes from several different places in the Bible. You can read about it in Heb. 7:1-6, Gen. 28:22, Lev. 27:30-33, Num. 18:21-28, Deut. 12:5-19 and 14:22-29, 26: 13-15 and in Neh. 13:5-12, Mal. 3:7-12 and Luke 18:9-14. Giving to the church helps to further the kingdom of God and supports ministries within the church. Typically the tenth is figured before taxes are taken out of your income. Hope that gives you some information for better understanding.

A tithe, very simply, is giving back to God a "tithe", or "tenth" of what He has given you. For example, say you earn $100. A tenth of that is $10. You get the picture. Everything we have belongs to God; He has just given us stewardship over His things. We must be wise stewards. Giving God a tithe on everything one earns is simply a way of saying thank you. At first glance, it may seem like it's unfair, or like you are throwing away money. But in reality, God has blessed you so much, perhaps in ways you don't even realize, and He will continue to do so. You can never give such a large tithe to God that He is unable to respond with enough blessing. I want to be sure that this cannot be said of me:
Malachi 3:8
"Should people cheat God? Yet you have cheated me!
"But you ask, `What do you mean? When did we ever cheat you?'
"You have cheated me of the tithes and offerings due to me.
I hope this helps, God bless!

it is a belief that some Denominations teach which requires a regular "gift" of money(theoretically 10% of your income) to the Church you attend on a regular basis. Some tithe weekly, some monthly. I have known some Churches that pass the plate and later after it's counted, the plate will pass again because the "Good Reverend/Pastor" doesn't thing the "offering" was enough and would continue to preach until he got what he was expecting.

Play Xbox stay and be basically a splash too polite to the only woman you're probably to have on your group. each and all of the little jerks will call you White Knight. it fairly is humorous reason on a similar time as they are insulting you, maximum of them would be sending the chick chum request... through fact, you realize, they have in no way considered a woman enjoying a video game in the previous. i will say the White Knights I performed with weren't so undesirable, I mean, extra suited than the appealing adult males with pornographic senses of humor. Edit: nicely, I heard it for the 1st time in Xbox stay, it became geared in the direction of a guy who became kinda protecting me from the sexists jokes others have been throwing at me.

Under Jewish law, the priests collected a tithe from everyone, 10 percent of their crops, livestock...
Christians were NEVER commanded to give a tithe.

Tithe: ... from the Israelites, give a tenth of the tithes you receive -- a tithe of the tithe -- to the LORD as a gift.-Numbers 18:26
Its giving back to the Lord, as a thank you, a portion of what we take in.
Its also like saving part of your crop and using it as seed to plant the next crop.
As you give, so shall you receive.

A tithe is the act of giving 10% of one's assets, income, property, etc, to benefit the church or synagogue. It's in the book of MALACHI in the Old Testament. It's a promise...

A tithe is what some churches want of their followers. It is usually a % of your earnings. Some want upwards of 10% from what I have heard from some.
In my opinion, Faith should be free.
