The mother should have spoken sooner knowing what was going to be on the shirt.

However, I think the idea is cute and original and yes, I'm a fat bottom girl :P and I DO rock! lol

Don't let others catty ways piss you off, you have control over how you feel, don't let them. Next time you can't have the things match that should have, it's up to you to get everyone on the same page to wear something alike........yanno, white t-shirt and jeans.

At least that way you can take pride in knowing you did the best you could do.

And I agree the hateful old lady should buy everyone new matching shirts.

Well, you can tell that the drum majors mom is not a Queen fan!! She should have said something before the money was spent--she had to know what was going on the shirts. The principal should not have backed down to her because the principal also knew what the shirts said--they have to know. Anyway, Good luck on fighting city hall

I think the drum major's mom is an over protective sexually repressed ding dong. I think she should have to reemburse everyone for the money spent.

Hey, what's wrong with wearing the shirts inside out? What's wrong with taking this up at the next PTA meeting? Student council? Write a letter to the editorial page of your local newspaper and enclose a picture of the T-shirts and ask people to write the school or call for a vote. Why do you have to just accept what happened?

FIGHT BACK!!!

I think this parent may have assumed the band director would take care of it. It's possible that she even talked to the director and he dismissed it. So when the shirt showed up she went to the principal. If she talked to the band director that person should have checked it out with the principal knowing that a parent had voiced a concern. The blame for this may be on your band director.

While I agree that this woman should have spoken up before the money was spent, I would be PISSED if I were in the band and being referred to as a "fat bottom girl." Yes, it's a line from a song, but it is offensive and degrading. Whoever ordered the shirts should have thought this through more carefully. Must have been a man.

Dear, your choice of verbiage is not particularly mature or attractive, so I would''t worry about how you looked at a pep rally. Otherwise, your little problem is just that: A little problem. No one is really going to remember WHAT you looked like at an inconsequential pep rally, and the mother who spoke up has a right to her opinion, even iif it WAS after the fact, although I agree it is annoying. You will have to be ticked off but believe me, you'll get over it and the world will keep on revolving. Grow up!

It shouldn't be just a bunch
of angry kids, the PARENTS
need to step in and make
the woman who is responsible
PAY for them and apologize.

She is a rat! What kind of
communication do the people
who are supposed to be in
charge have, if THIS can
happen!!!
Something is dreadfully wrong!

yes--the shirts are funny and they are provocative. But I agree that this issue should have been discussed before the shirts were ordered, not after which screws you guys over.

Still--the shirts might still be fun to wear around.

well, it's debatable whether or not it's provocative, but she definitely should have spoken up BEFORE all the money was spent. If she's causing all this trouble, she should buy you guys new shirts.

I'm sorry about the mess you're in!

That would make me mad too.
Maybe you should start a petition, get signatures!
If you want things to change, then you have to stand up for what you want! If others are with you, then get them to help.
