You have a 50% less chance because you only have 1/2 of his genes. The other 1/2 comes from our mom. Your kids have a 25% chance of getting it statistically speaking. But I think it is even less because I think both parents need to be carriers.

There would seem to be a family connection if both your dad and his sister have it. This is what I found ...
Q. What are the chances of my children and grandchildren inheriting vitiligo?
A. About 1 in 200 individuals in the U.S. and Europe get vitiligo. In families, that increases to about 1 in 20 for children, siblings, or parents and about 2-3% for grandparents. That means there is about a 7% chance that one relative could manifest vitiligo. In other words, there is a 93% chance that no one else will get vitiligo in that family.
A geneticist might be able to give you a better answer.
I hope this helps.

Vitiligo is an autoimmune disorder in which a person's immune system attacks it own melanocytes (cells that produce the pigment in our skin), causing symmetrical patchy whitening of the skin. It is associated with other autoimmune conditions including scleroderma, type 1 diabetes mellitus, autoimmune adrenal insufficiency, Hashimoto's thyroiditis etc. Inheritance patterns of these diseases are complex, and there is not sure way of telling if the offspring of a patient will be afflicted with the disorder. However, it is clear that family members of a patient hav a slightly higher risk of being afflicted, especially among first degree relatives.

Jenny, please try not to worry. Scar tissue is white. When the skin heals where there was a wound, it usually turns white (a scar). Sometimes worrying cause you to use more B vitamins. There are many causes for vitiligo. One of the less severe forms of vitiligo is from vitamin B deficiency. It is important to eat plenty of good foods rich with vitamin B and not to worry. Taking a walk, reducing stress, eating 3 well-balanced meals a day will help.
