wellyou want the best it aint gonna be dirt cheap, but check out diamond audio, kenwood, autotek, alpine. those are really good quality amps. garbage amps would be phenix gold, and most of the stuff you get from best buy!!

funny my name is Richard H too.

on to amps

HiAmp is right to get a true 600w RMS amp it's going to cost some serious cash. There are a lot of good brands.
some brands have entry level that are OK and high end stuff that is great.

If you want true rated power look for the CEA-2006 rating.

Here is an example of a CEA-2006 rated amp and it's cost

Rockford Fosgate Punch P550.2 at $400.00
150 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms (275 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms)
550 watts RMS x 1 in bridged mode (4-ohm stable in bridged mode)

Second Example of CEA-2006 rated amp at cost

Kicker ZX750.1 Mono sub amp at $500.00
375 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (750 watts x 1 at 2 ohms)

These are just examples I'm not pushing brands, just pick what you like and remember the same old cliche "you get what you pay for" really holds true in car audio.

There's no way to definitively answer this question. There are simply too many variables to consider. Cost is one of the many. It is important to get an amp capable of at least delivering its rated power. CEA2006 compliance helps a little with manufacturers having widely different testing and reporting methods. Another way of telling is by checking the "birth sheet" which many of the decent amps come with, to show what that specific unit output on the test bench, before being packaged. Most of the low-end amplifiers will not even come close to putting out what they are rated for. Another factor is build quality. And, another is efficiency. Features can also be a plus. Don't forget impedance (Ohms) handling, to at least tolerate your intended application. To name a few considerations...
