God actually does something constructive with the money. The money goes to help the hungry in other countries and pay our rent so that more people can become a part of our community. The government does little for either of those causes.

My pastor's mini-van is older than mine. He hasn't taken his family on a vacation for the past ten years. You should try visiting churches before you judge them so unfairly.

OH MY!

This is SUCH a GOOD question!!!!!

In the Bible it says Give God 10% and Cesar (government) should get no more.

I wrestled with this for YEARS and never gave much to the Church because of it!

For me, it comes down to the fact that I have been so blessed with a healthy family, and good jobs, I now feel that God should get his 10% First. The fact that our Government is wasting our money is not God's fault.

I also don't agree with Preachers making hundreds of thousands of dollars to get rich.

One thing I really do respect about the Catholic Church, the Priests make about $15,000 a year.

I consider this a VERY GOOD question.

Peace!

Tithe is only called tithe when you give God WITH a willing heart your ten percent of what you get. All the other stuff does not count, and you're right the preacher does get nice cars and that's because they've earned it. It's almost like having someone to do all your work and when you are satisfy with the things they did you would'nt mind giving them something nice well it's almost like our Father in Heaven when the preacher is doing the good thing for the Lord of course he gets something good. Peace be with you.

The government does not get your tithes, but your taxes. And for your information my Pastor drives a Ford Taurus & retired from Ford Motor Co. & works on the sideline remodeling houses. And also for your information, I have been going to the same church for over 36 yrs. & not one time have we EVER passed the offering plate, we believe in tithing, & our ministers has been around this world 4 times preaching, without having to ask for one cent to go. If God sent them, God will provide. I see all your question has to do with wanting to downgrade true Christains, but in doing so, you only downgrade yourself & show your stupitity. Sorry Mr. Jibba Jabba you lose again. Because that is just what your questions amount to, is a bunch of jibba jabba

in case you may study with regard to the church you may prefer to bypass to you may understand that tithing isn't a call for for its individuals. the only time everybody could understand no count if or not you pay tithing is on the top of the 365 days once you do tithing settlement. in case you bypass they are going to ask while you're an entire tithe payer and you assert "particular" while you're or "no" while you at the instant are not. There at the instant are no repercussions. in case you sense such as you may prefer to pay tithing yet at the instant are unable to at this 2d communicate with your bishop approximately this situation, he will furnish help to discover the solutions for you.

Tithing what you have earned to church is an act of appreciation to God and acknowledging that he is the one that first gives to us.

I am the type that also question what the church actually does with the money. But recently I left that matter to God. It is our responsibility whether or not we tithe. But it is the church leaders responsibility in what they do with the money. And they are the ones who will be accountable to God. For church leaders, God has placed a higher accountability on them.

The tithers get value for their money.

Regular social events, singers, bands, some guy reads to them, it's a nice place to hang out for an hour or two every week. They chat with acqaintances, make new friends, and in some sects get to play Bingo on the premises. Quite the pleasant situation. I would prefer to belong to a gun club, but that's just me.

What should happen is churches be recognized as social clubs, and every nickel coming be taxed if it cannot properly be expensed.

The church isn't supported by taxes. How do YOU expect the church to be able to survive without HELP from the faithful. The Church has bills to pay also>

And where do you preach, brother, or labor for the Lord? Pray, tell!

1Timothy 5:17-18 (KJV)

Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. For the scripture saith, thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
