yes we have them and they go round collecting dirty needles and reporting abandoned vehicles, crime has dropped dramatically since they,ve been around they also do things for the kids such as junior wardens and stuff and will go shopping with old/disable people

Oooh Yes! We have street wardens in the centre of town - they are just posers and walk around gossiping, eating and drinking. Occasionally they get involved in things they have no right getting involved in and don't know when to leave things alone.
We also have community wardens in another area of town - but although I work there and have done for the last 6 months, I have NEVER seen them out and about doing anything remotely COMMUNITY or WARDEN based at all.
So, I am paying extortionate council tax for them!!! I want a rebate.

we have got them here they are a waste of time they walk around the streets doing nothing, they r supposed to be a voluntry police kinda thing except all they can do is call the police on u, not sure if they can hold u till the police arrive tho, a lot of older people feel safer having them on the streets but the young ones still js do as they please

Seems to me it is a way to have a police presence to reassure the elderly on the cheap.
They don't seem to have any powers so I don't see the point of it really.

Usually a Nosey , Gossiping, smart **** , who has a misguided Idea that he,s a very important chap , can and frequently does "Advise" you on "everything" even if you don,t want it , knows everybody,s ,and your, business.
