... or should I just shut up and go with what they tell me since it's their wedding and everything. I am also the photographer for the wedding and no amount of skill can cover up the fact that everyone will look ridiculous.

You should keep your mouth shut on this one. There's no accounting for taste, what you think looks horrible others may think looks just fine, and vice versa. You will offend them horribly if you say something, so just practice saying in front of a mirror "you look fine!" with a realistic smile and enthusiastic inflection in your voice. Good luck!

If the outfits have been bought and paid for with no return policy, then it's better if you don't say anything as nothing can help at this point. It's just one day anyway, and the outfits are the least important thing relatively speaking.

If there is some room for salvaging the situation, see if the other wedding party members agree with you, then have a gentle chat with your friends and provide some ideas if you think they're open to that.

If the dresses haven't been bought and paid for yet, or they are still in alterations phase, then maybe suggest that another style would flatter the bridesmaids better. Have the woman try on two or three different dresses and take pictures of them at the store. Then, she can look at the pictures later and decide which ones she thinks will look best on her maids. This works best if all the attendants are in agreement. Maybe you could all approach her together with your own suggestions.
In the end, it's really the bride's decision. So if your suggestions aren't taken, just sigh and get on with your lives. You'll only have to wear them once, it's not your wedding, and she's the one that has to be happy. If the pictures look terrible, take heart. They won't be on your wall for the rest of your life.

I'm going through something similar with my sister's choices for the mother's dress. The picture idea was suggested to me when I asked about what I should do. :-)

Yeah it will be hard, but ya got to keep that mouth shut. They picked the outfits for a reason. As for the pictures I say use a lot of props, big ones that will hide the outfits. No I'm just kidding, once again just go with the flow. Take the best pictures that you can and they'll going to have to deal with the end results.

What is more ridiculous the outfits or the fact that it bothers you? If you aren't comfortable wearing the items they want for their wedding then you should respectfully decline to be in the wedding party. Besides what you think is ridiculous they both my find exciting or stimulating. Its their life and their choice.....

It is their wedding. If the outfits look ridiculous, then there is nothing you can do. Just take great pics (as much as possible considering the circumstances).

Bite your tongue. It's their wedding and their day. I've been in one wedding where the dress was awful, but I just had to grin and bear it. It's what she wanted. Maybe she doesn't share the same sense of style that you do, but that's ok. Above all, it's their wedding.

It's their wedding, so you pretty much have no say so. Depending on how close you are to the couple, you could joking say they are horrible and see if the makes them rethink their wedding party attire.

I would tell them how you feel. But if you don't want to hurt anyones feeling. then just keep you;re mouth shut.and go to wedding and take pictures no matter how you look.cause the odds are that they wont be looking at you anyway.Because they will be look at the Bride and Groom the most of all.So they wont take notice who you look.good luck
