Interesting bit of confusion, Child. If I bring some elucidation, will you begin to see through your darkness?
The famous Son you are referring to was never known as Jesus while his body was incarnate on this mortal plane. The name "Jesus" is the Latin version of a Greek name. The Greek name was an approximation of the Aramaic/Hebrew name "Iesa", pronounced rather like the name "Esau" with an extra vowel. The modern Hebrew interpretation is Yeheshua.
So much for that.
Blasphemy is when a person does something evil and blames God for it- like "holy war" or asking where God was on 9/11.
Many people think that saying "God's name" in the wrong context is blasphemy, but we don't actually know God's personal name. Blasphemy is-according to the Bible- an unforgivable sin. It is specifically attributing evil to God, not a mere case of saying a bad word.
Mexican males who bear the name of the Savior do so out of respect and commitment to their faith. There is no way that could be blasphemy.
Hope this clears up your confusion. Love your neighbor.

NO. NO. NO. A THOUSAND TIMES NO! The name Jesus is a well respected name that originated long before Cheesuz of Nazareth was born of Mary & a Roman soldier. Example: Joshua & Yeshua are Jewish forms of Jesus; Isa is the Arab form of Jesus; Yesu is the Hindu form of Jesus. So Jesus is a good Spanish name. By the way, blasphemy is non-existent since you can't blaspheme what doesn't exist.

Huh?? It ain't disrespect at all, it is something that has been going for centuries and it is the way to preserve the religion in a family, to show respect to god.
It is not guilty neither blasphemy, it is the way we mexicans live.

The answer that I can give is that a name is meant to honor someone or someone's memory. Just as one might name a child after one'self as Junior or, as in the Jewish religion, a child is named after a dearly departed relative to keep his/her memory alive. So, too, is the name Jesus given to keep the memory of the original Jesus alive.

Except Jesus was not the name of the man from Nazareth. His name was Yeshua, what we call Joshua. Jesus is the Greek equivalant.

That is a good Q, but like another user said I guess if there was a guy named Jesus Christ it would be a lil disrespectful.
