Every thing you are showing is true and there's much more. The Apostle Paul tells us there is only one mediator between God and man , the man Jesus Christ.
The Catholics refer to Mary as the meditrix (mediator)
As much as I agree with you, I have had this discussion with priest. I was a Catholic and brought a plethora of doctrines I found contradictory to the Bible, Even the qualification of Priest in timothy ( that they must be married and the husband of one wife , with there children in subjection.. I showed my Priest where Jesus healed Peters mother in law , so Peter was married. I named Jesus's Brothers all 4 and his sisters , that Mary was not a virgin after Jesus birth. and many other things.
He said it's not true, I said it's in the Bible. He said the holy Fathers in Rome disagree. I said , Is their authority greater than the Bible. He said they are the final authority.
That was in 1979. I've been a christian ever since. For a Catholic to become a Christian (truly following the teachings of the Christ) yielding to the word of God. They would be an outcast to their family, those that are very religious. Not as bad as when a Jew or Muslim becomes one of us.

Is it a sin to bow to someone, to show respect and reverance? I don't think so.
Praying to the Holy Virgin is really asking her to pray for you to her son Jesus. If I ask you to pray for me, do I worship you? No, I don't.
You have just done what you are accusing Catholics of doing, using the Bible to justify what we believe - without giving the whole reference.
Read all of this Exodus 20:3-5, and you will see that it refers to having graven images that are worshiped as a god. As an ex-Catholic you should know that a Catholic doesn't worship the statue of Mary, Jesus, or any of the Saints - those things are merely representations of the people.
We worship the Holy Trinitarian God that is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, no other.
If you want to confront me about my beliefs, go ahead, but you had better be more prepared than you were this time.

You know, I think we should all "bow" down to whomever we want. I, personally have a great love and admiration of the Virgin Mary, and yes (obviously) am Catholic. This is the conclusion I have come to;
the Ten Commandments were the ONLY laws given to us by God. Everything else from then on are man's laws or man's interpretation of another man's ideas. So, I just use the Ten Commandments as my moral guideline. The men and so called priests and ministers, reverends, etc.. who pass judgment and try to tell the rest of us what to think, how to live, what God would want...are no more "in-tune" with God then you and I. Ten Commandments, all you need.

Why do you feel you have to "confront" anyone based on their beliefs? Obviously you have no knowledge whatsoever of Catholicism. Before you start preaching to anyone, you need to get your facts straight. This site you post is obviously posted by an extremist hate group. I sit at my mother's feet and ask her for help. It is no different than discussing concerns with Mary, the mother of Jesus. Think about the Hail Mary Prayer, we say, "Holy Mary, mother of God, PRAY FOR US SINNERS NOW, and at the hour of our death." We are asking for her to pray for us, we are not worshiping her. If you were Catholic, you must have slept through your religion classes.
There are places to look at information about Catholicism. I am posting a link about Roman Catholicism. I picked one that is not directly from the church, but from Wikipedia to give an objective view.

Most people are very defencive when you challenge their beliefs. There are many, many branches of Catholicism, many offshoot sects and cults, And many, many interpretations of the bible and what it says and means.
That picture is one representation of the beliefs of some catholics. It is not the representation of the spirit of many other catholics. regardless of what that one passage of the bible states, and regardless of some catholics furvor that led to that posting. Many catholics, if asked probalbly dont know that passage from the bible. I would assume because that passage was not part of the aspect of the religion that was significant to thier spiritual experience...they would say we dont believe that,, i dont do that...thats not what I see...when i look for whats meaningful to my spiritual experence.
I am not catholic, but defend my own beliefs often enough to appreciate being defensive when confronted about what I may or may not personnaly believe

If you want to know about the Catholic Church, ask a Catholic, don't ask questions about Catholicism from those who hate the Catholic Church.
Do you have any idea why Lucifer fell from Heaven? Do you have any idea why he tempted Eve and not Adam?
Don't you know that "honor your father and mother" is one of the Ten Commandments? Do you know that people who hate Mary hate her because Catholics love her?
If Jesus were to knock on your door today would you say: "Come in Jesus, for you are my brother! But that woman with you is nothing. She must remain outside!"
If God elected Mary to usher in His Salvation Plan for Mankind, who are we to reject her? Mary, after all, is the first Christian. She is the first person in history to accept Jesus Christ.
If you claim Jesus as your brother, then Mary is your mother. Why do you disrespect her? Just as bad, why are you indifferent toward her???
Your question is: "Is it a sin to bow down to Mother Mary?" This is my answer:
If I were ever so fortunate as to stand before the presence of the Mother of Jesus, I would bow to her. I would drop to my knees and tearfully kiss her hand and her feet if she let me. And I would thank her for accepting God's Salvation Plan for me and for Mankind. I know Mary is not God. Why am I not afraid nor ashamed to display my love for Mary? Because I KNOW the difference between WORSHIP and veneration and I know that Mary is THAT important in the scheme of things. I am guilty of many things. I am a sinner, but I will never be accused of disrespecting that faultless, wonderful woman who is the Mother of My Lord and my Savior Jesus Christ.

I'm super catholic and my grandmother is from the Opus Dei - we have NEVER bowed down to Mary. We only ask her to intercede for us, which means that we ask her to ask her Son Jesus to answer our prayers. Why do all other people think that us Catholics worship Mary as a god? Think of it this way, when you need something, like to get through an operation or whatever, don't you sometimes ask a friend to pray for you? It's the same thing with Mary. We ask her to pray for us. Get it?

I have a collection of Catholic artwork going back 1900 years and have never seen that picture before. It could be of anyone ... or no one. How do we know who it is?
It looks spooky to me. The whole site is spooky.
If you want to know what Catholics believe, just read the Catechism. It's complete, it's easy to understand, and it's available online for free.
Go here:
http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/index.htm
Since when is it a sin to bow to someone?
Bowing doesn't constitute worship. Bowing simply indicates respect or good manners, depending on the context.
Dance partners often bow to each other. They don't worship each other.

Because you have no business doing it when all you are trying to do is argue and confronting them. It's obvious that you don't want to listen with an open mind, so why do you bother them.
It's not a sin to bow down to anybody, if that's what you believe, DON'T DO IT! But you have no business telling other people what they can do.
It's people like you who turn others away from Christianity.

They define away the conflicts. They say they don't pray to graven images because they are just representations, but it's a distinction without a difference scripturally. No one praying before an image of Chemosh thought the stone was really Chemosh either.
They say they don't violate the scripture in Hebrews saying Jesus is the only mediator between man and god when they pray to the saints, because they say the bible doesn't expressly say there are no "sub-mediators." It's word play, and they've had 2000 years to get good at it.
