There are a couple of ways that I have gotten bubble gum out of my hair.

1. You can freeze it with an ice cube, this makes it easy to separate from the hair. You may have to keep freezing it until you get all the gum out.

2. You can use a solvent like paint thinner, but this can be harsh on your hair. If you use a solvent you should go and get a bottle of that hot oil that replenishes your hair with vitamins.

3. I have heard that putting peanut butter in your hair with the gum will work, but I have never tried this. Therefore I don't know, plus that seems like it would be messier than the gum itself.

4. This is probably the best way I have gotten gum out of my hair. First you will want to separate the section of hair that has gum in it. Then you will want to keep it away from the gum infected area with something like a hair tie or scrunchy. Then use a blow dryer to heat the gum up so that it is runny and then you can take a damp wash cloth and hold the hair near the roots and slide the wash cloth down the section of hair with gum in it.

Good Luck and try not to get any more gum in your hair.

PEANUT BUTTER. Gently work some peanut butter into the area. The oil from the PB will not hurt your hair but will un-stick the gum. If the bubble gum is stuck to a piece of clothing you should try ICE first. Ideally the gum will freeze and you can just peel it off without harming the fabric. Depending on fabric type the peanut butter might leave an oily stain, so try the ice first.

Put down the scissors!! lol.

Here are different things you can try.

Ice. hold it there until the gum feels hard then pull out what you can.

Any kind of oil...baby oil, canola oil, olive oil, peanut butter (it is the oil in it that makes it work)--it really doesn't matter, work that into your hair and out what you can.

OR

First do the freeze thing with the ice and follow up with the oil . Use a fine tooth comb to get as much out as you can. If there is still some left, take a really warm shower use conditioner and try to comb it out in the shower.

Last resort--use a hot oil treatment. You can get them at the drug store. Just follow manufacturers instructions. The reason I say last resort is only because it will cost some money and the other remedies are probably things you have in your kitchen or bath.

Be patient. Unless you have dred locks these tips should work for you!

Good luck!

Ok I will try and provide few solutions to you, but if all fails... honey, you will have to go to the old scissors trick and say goodbye to your hair!

Here you go,
Peanut butter!!!! Yes! peanut butter oil wil soften and loosen the gum = BREAK IT DOWN. Rub a spoonful of peanut butter into the gum, leave it on for a bit, then pull it out with your fingers, paper towel, or comb. Try it twice if its huge chunk

You can also try mayonnaise, margarine, or butter, they work as well!

Really you can apply apply any oily substances or hair conditioner and do the trick!

You may also wanna harden the gum using an ice cube on it!

You can also try the mixture of baking soda and water... rub it in well and VOILA!!! Its gone!

My last solution is egg white!!!! Rub it in until the gum begins to break, use fine tooth comb and then shampoo.

If the gum is not totally removed and there are some few partial gums still stuck on your hair, use pieces of tape, the kind that sticks well.... or hair spray!

Try any of the following:
1.Ice cubes- it may sound comical but some people still resort to the humble ice cube as a means to remove chewing gum.Just rub ice on the gum until it hardensthen it will come away easily, will break
2. Any kind of conditioner and hair oil. Rub lots of hair oil on to the area where the gum is in. Rub it really well. The gum will start to break down. After that apply the conditioner on to the area. Rub really well and you will see the gum start to break down. Slide it off with a paper towel or your fingers. Then wash it out completely with WARM water. The gum should be out like no other.
3. Use pieces of tape. If the gum has been partially removed already and the bits that you can't freeze or remove are still stuck...Use pieces of tape, tape that sticks well, since the tape is sticks better to gum than the gum does to clothing. It will come it off as long as the gum is still sticky. Tape is available anytime, anywhere.
4. Any oil. Use anything oil based to remove gum especially on your hair- baby oil, lotions, even cooking oils or sprays.
Just apply oil on hair and remove with a paper towel. It's gone in seconds.
5.Baking soda and water. Mix the baking soda with the water and rub it in your hair then you brush it out.

Ice doesn't work, Ice only works if you get bubble gum on your clothes, you can freeze your clothes and get it out the next day. If you got gum in your hair, just cut it out or use this cleaning stuff that removed adhesive. There are adhesive removers that remove crazy glue and sticky tape off a wall. That will also work for gum. It costs about $5 a bottle

Peanut Butter Method
1. If the gum is in a small amount of the hair, just apply peanut butter or all over the area and mix it in until it comes out. Then just take a shower to wash out the peanut butter.

2. If the gum is spread out, use more peanut butter, or if it is not near your scalp, use ice.

Ice Method
1. Ice it for about fifteen minutes and it should have hardened enough to just take it off.

Cold Cream Method
1. Apply cold cream to it. It will disappear quickly.

Vaseline Method
1. Fill your hair with vaseline.

2. Spread the vaseline around the area of the gum.

3.Take a wide tooth comb and comb the gum and most of the vaseline out of your hair.

olive oil
1. method to get the gum out, and within seconds the gum came right out.

Apply a liberal amount (or soak for several seconds) of 99% isopropyl alcohol to the area, then rub. The sap dissolves quickly. Then clean with soap or shampoo and rinse to remove alcohol and the dissolved sap.

The best way that I know of to get gum out of your hair is either with Peanut Butter or Ice. Personally I think that Peanut Butter works best. Just saturate the area where the gum is with Peanut Butter and continuously rub until all of the gum is gone.

Peanut Butter will do the trick. Make sure you use creamy, the chunky kind will hinder your combing. Rub the P.B. into the area where the gum is and let it set for a few minutes then try and comb it very carefully. The oil in the P.B. will dissolve the gum. Ice also works, it will make the gum brittle and you should be able to break it off.
