Yes. I learned a lot about myself, both things I needed to change & things I was proud of. Through solitude, I learned to slow down and listen more openly to others. I also learned that it's good to practice getting away from the noise & bustle in order to return to balance and peace.
That always ripples out from me when I return, and it seems to help others relax around me finding more laughter than tears. So, I try to get away when I realize that I might be spiraling into negative emotions instead of positive. Everyone affects those near by with their energy, and I prefer to dwell in harmony rather than dischord.

I have a couple of times but, I cannot retain it for some reason. I have when I hit rock bottom a few times and within that day, I would actually discover why it happend, how I can change it to an advantage and t opened up a few doors that I could never discover/come to terms with. Sorry that this is kinda deep! I have more info but, I have been typing and I found my index finger laying next to the "Enter" key!

Yes I have.
Long story - cut short: Came home, found my fiance sleeping with my best friend.... Kicked his azz, begged her to stay, but she left anyways.... Went with him, left me with nothing - no place to live, no friends (they all went with her and him), no self-worth.... I really felt like killing myself for a while. I was left utterly alone.
That solitude allowed me to discover many things about myself. Like, that which did not kill me made me stronger. I also learned why I acted and responded to situations, how my upbringing had affected my perceptions (initially, I had cheated on her...I came to ralize that I thought cheating was OK because I had seen my parents do it to each other all my life...so I thought is was totally cool to love one person and screw another. I came to the conclusion that this was not the case.) I also came to understand that she was not entirely to blame for our situation - I also had a hand in destroying the relationship. ANd I had flaws that needed work.
It took time and patience, but I eventually changed who I was, went back to school, obtained a degree, and now I am engaged to my best friend in life. I love you Naomi!
And ya know what? I did it all without the need for God or religion.

Meditation has many benefits........for those who believe in a higher power.......mysticism is not a fearful thing but a chance to allow communication on another spiritual plane...silence is key...it is a time to listen
Christian mystics must always realize that objective truth is the guide........no communication you receive of a subjective nature is ever to contradict or over rule the objective revelation of scripture.....
This being said....there are thing that i know that i know god has shown me....guidance things....insights into other people.........prompting to speak or help others
These are by their very nature subjective and we must use caution....god told me to do it is a most abused phrase...........
If you sense God's leading in power....it doesn't contradict known objective truth....act humbly on it
