It will take more than two days for sure... but if you can't stand it buy a shampoo that has a lot of fragrance to it. That way it will mask the odor a bit.

Time is the only true remedy without ruining the whole perm. I think the odor from my lst perm lasted a week. Use the best smelling shampoo and hairspray to help mask the odor. At least people will know that you take care of yourself.

You can rinse it in tomato juice. I do this for clients who are particularly sensitive to perm odors. There is a shampoo that can be used immediately after neutralizing (too late for you now- but next time maybe) it's called curl and lock and your stylist can get it from her local beauty supply. It takes all the smell out.

They DO have products to wash away residual perm odor. Look it up online.
Also, next time you go to your stylist, tell him/her to rinse your hair extra well to get rid of all the waving lotion.

It will eventually fade away. I usually cover the odor with my Oil Sheen. It has a sweet aroma to it.
