I think the pain of breaking up is the most emotionally intense situation I've ever been in. I kind of miss it now that I survived it. My big revelation was that life isn't a story with a clear beginning and end. All the ideals are ultimately false. My "affirmation" was doing something positive every day (like jogging then reading a book that I've been meaning to read.) That led to feeling better about myself. Then I gained confidence. Now I have a beautiful girlfriend with whom I'm in love. Time slides by quicker than you think....sorry about that first answer. I take the whole thing to lightly now that it's over.

I think it always helps to look at what you have and not what you don't have or what bad things have happened to you. I lost my husband, my home , and everything in it 3 years ago because of a tornado and I try and look at the bright side of my life every day. I have four wonderful children, I am almost finished with my Bachelors degree-these are the things I concentrate on, not the bad things. Good Luck!

Life is a curvaceous and fluid journey. Because I am always moving through leaning stages, I cannot look back or measure. I learn though my relationships because that is how I begin to define who I am. Nothing is unforgivable in life. I know nursing this hurt is holding me back from fully being with other; therefore I choose to thank the universe for giving me another opportunity to develop my soul by knowing another person. I move easily through this experience.

in thinking keep to simple, in conflict be fair, don't compare or compete, simply be yourself. act without doing, work without effort, think of the large as small and the many as few. confront the difficult while it is easy, accomplish the great one step at a time. let things come and let things go and live without possession and live without expectation. do not need, depend, create or define. do not see beauty or ugliness or good or bad. do not preach or implore - do not say what is right and what is wrong. live and let live, do not judge, take life as it comes and deal with it - everything will be okay! roughly translated from the book - "MY FRIEND LEONARD" written by james frey

Grant me the courage to change the things I can change,
the serenity to accept the things I cannot change
and the wisdom to know the difference.

you can't change the past. and why waste the present over something you have no control over. Have you met God...He has totally changed my focus...I too, struggled with the same issue.
