if you are looking for a pet please check with your local humane society or dog pound there are so many unwanted animals that are put to sleep because no one will take the time to even give them a chance. i rescued my dog. she was fully grown and has been the perfect companion for both myself and my children.

I went to Animal Services, like an animal shelter where I live, and I got me a 2 month old tabby cat for 40 dollars including all the initial shots. I would suggest getting a cat from one of these places instead of a pet store, saves an animal life.

It all depends on what sort of pet you want.
If its a dog or cat then go to the rescue centres, the animals in there always need loving homes and will be very grateful for your care.
Any others then for fish try an aquaria centre and for birds go to a certified bird breeder so that you know what the bird will look like when its full grown and specially get good info on what it needs and likes. Have fun with your new charge. good luck.

you can get them on the internet or at the shelter or a breeder, but if you are looking for a dog then don't get them at a pet shop because pet shop dogs come from puppy mills and are sickly and usually have nervious problems i got my dog at a pet store and she was sick when we got her and now she has seizures.

Anywhere than a pet store!! That's where the puppy and kitten mills sell to. Go to a shelter!!

As you have put this under Dogs, are we to assume you are after a dog.

Suggest you go to a animal rescue home. Either the yellow pages should list them or local vets will know.
