Because dog's instinct is to den when sleeping. Your bed reaks of your smell that he loves because he associates it with you. He sees you as part of his pack and sees the bed as your den and wants to be a part of the pack in the den. It's up to you if you want him there or not.

Your scent is very strong there. You might not smell it, but to your dog's sensitive nose it's odor heaven!
Have you ever noticed that when you give a dog a bath it loves to roll on stuff and if you let it outside it will find the smelliest stuff it can to roll in? That's because a dog is a hunter and it doesn't want it's prey to smell it coming so it tries to disquise it's scent.

the actually criminal way is to watch for her to pass, yet in case you imagine this may be the basically right way for Toby, imagine again, no count number the way you do it Toby will wade through and mourn. I had a cat pass away at homestead, I confirmed my different cat that she had handed, for 2 weeks she refused to go away the spot she very last talked about her pal, she stopped ingesting and ultimately lost the prefer to stay and that i had to positioned her down too. questioning you're doing what's basically right for Toby isn't what's certainly basically right for the dogs. both way he will wade through even as he loses his basically right pal, he will mourn reason animals experience loss too. I recommend you call a vet which will come for your homestead and could euthanize your dogs. there are a good type of places referred to as Angels of Mercy or some thing like that which will come and euthanize in the relax of your homestead. no matter if he's there even as she dies or she leaves and would not come back both way will be complicated on Toby and that i'm sorry that is a range you've come to, it isn't straightforward no count number what you do. i have lengthy gone through it and a pal took their dogs to be euthanized and the different dogs continuously looks for his pal. The do get over it of their own time you actually ought to allow them. good success and that i"m sorry for you little poodle Nellie. FYI: dogs don't have an same thoughts as human beings, dogs do not carry grudges for this reason he gained't unexpectedly no longer forgive your mom for taking his pal away, certain he will omit Nellie yet he gained't hate your mom for doing it, dogs do not "hate" they do no longer be waiting to have those thoughts.

if you had your dogs up on the bed when they were puppies, they feel it's part of their territory, and they smell your scent..once a pet is allowed a certain behavior, it's hard to break it, isn't it?
