do your kids watch "grown-up" shows????

Question

for example, does your kid enjoy discovery documentaries more than cartoon express???
or, do they watch food network instead of bill nye the science guy??

just curious and if they do...what's their favorite "grown-up" show??

pure curiosity. doesn't matter to me what your kids watch...i just like thinking of stuff and asking....
so, i'm not sitting here judging you....PROMISE!!!!

Both of my girls prefer adult television over the cartoons. My 11 year old loves lifetime and my eight year old loves animal planet and the discovery channel. She also will watch the news unlike myself. They do also enjoy the teen focused shows (ex: Josh and Drake, That's so Raven, Zoey 101, Romeo, etc.) Today's cartoons are not what they used to be...I never remember the smurfs getting into so much trouble...lol! I watch them with them and if any questions ever arise, I answer them age appropriately as possible. I don't know if I am allowing them to do the right thing however, they are smart mature children for their age so I am assuming it is okay.

My husband and I have 4 children. They are 27, 24, 21 and 9. The 9 year old was born when her sibs were 18, 15, and 12. So, she has been raised around a lot of big people. She's always been very comfortable around teens and adults. When she was little she always hung out in her brother and sisters rooms with their friends listening to their music and watching their TV shows. As a result, she tends to think more like a big person instead of a kid. On Sat. mornings, she loves all the cooking shows. She is very interested in any outdoor show involving fishing, hunting, or guns. We live in a rural community and do not have cable access. Whenever we are somewhere that has cable or a satellite dish, she gravitates to The History Channel or Animal Planet. In a hotel room, she loves to surf on by Cartoon Network and likes any station with old westerns. She would like to be a rancher in Montana.

My grandchildren do watch some adult shows, like Idol or Amazing Race, otherwise two watch Discovery Channel and the rest watches kids show like Raven,Bratz, and they also like the old cartoons like Bugs Bunny etc. they are 7 and 9 both sets, but no twins.

My little brother always LOVES watching the food network. I don't why but he does. He will talk on and on about how they made the food! He is 7 years old by the way.

My girls love both cartoons/kids shows & 'grown up" shows. They love reality shows, like Survivor, Big Brother, etc. & cooking shows, like Food Network..

When I was little I used to love watching PBS, shows like Nature, Wild America and anything about animals in exotic countries. I used to also love NOVA, especially when the topic was about space exploration.

My son is 3 and watches some adult shows, but always with me and my wife. He much rather watch the Goodnight Show on PBS Sprout. I think his favorite adult show is Survivor. He likes when Jeff Probst says, "Survivors ready...GO!" He does the hand signals and everything. He also likes the challenges.

All three of my kids like "So You Think You Can Dance."

My oldest likes "Whose Line is it Anyway."

They all like to watch things like Nature or Nova on PBS.....science type stuff.

My 7.5 yo and 3.5 yo like "Deal or No Deal" which my 3.5 year old calls "No Deal No Deal" instead, LOL!

My 5.5 yo likes to watch cooking shows sometimes.
