Anyone know where I can purchase a very large Maine Coon? I would like a makrel tabby (black/tan) offspring. Anyone know a choice breeder to consider.
PS size is important in this case

You didn't say what area. or did you want the kitten shipped.? if you do a simple google search you will find numerouse Maine Coon cat breeders. You could then contact them and find one that has large Maine Coons. By the way most Maine Coons are large!

My husband and I also want a Maine Coon. But I don't think I can bring myself to spend a few hundred dollars on a kitten when so many loving adult cats are in shelters and much more in need of a good home. Now, if we could find one to ADOPT....oh, the joy:)

Check at www.cfainc.org - that is the largest purebred cat registry in the US. They have listings for breeders. They also have breed rescues - if you adopted an adult Maine Coon, you would know it's size immediately! Something to consider.

I own a Maine coon Persian mix. Before you adopt that cat be aware that Maine coons are territorial, dislike other cats encroaching in their territory and do not usually lose fights. If you want a large one because other cats are in the neighborhood that you want to get rid of, you will be kept awake at night listening to cat fights and will not endear yourself to your neighbors.
