we are bith in college, and we are in the same math class together. the teacher puts us in groups for the whole semister, and we have to do group projects. She gave us a number 1-5 and she and I were both 5's. We have like 7 people in our group. I know it's weird for a college class but the grades are based on group activities. Well we talk after class about the group projects and stuff. I found out that she had a b/f cause she was talking and was like "I have been dating this loser for 4 1/2 years" She made a face like its been a long time, so I might as well still date him or something like that. I don't know women well lol. We still talk like friends and we all shared e-mails, but I feel like its possiable she may like me, but is not clueing me in cause she has a b/f. I really haven't done anything with her since I have known her for 2 weeks. Any suggestions? I'm lost.

Well, it's clear she's still with him for some reason, so now it's time to find out what that reason is.

However, this is one of many cases where the direct approach is *NOT* the best way to do things. One thing about talking to women: they will always "hear" things about one step further than what you actually said. If you ask "So if he's that bad, why are you still with him?", she will also hear "After all, if he's such a loser, and you're dating him, that makes you a loser too!"

The better way to snoop for this information is to pretend to speak in his defense next time she puts him down in your presence: "Well, surely there's *something* redeeming about him or you'd have dumped him by now, right?" This gives her an "out" by allowing her to justify her decision, however lamely, and it also gives you insight into what she likes in a guy.

Oh, and make lots of eye contact when you ask that question. Eye contact = interest, which will help send the other message you want to send: "...you'd have dumped him by now and found somebody else better for you...somebody like me."

No, she's just playin' a little either consciously or sub-consciously because she is apparently not real happy in her relationship, as she indicated that to you - BUT after 4.5 yrs with her boyfriend that she IS still with...even if you ask her out and she goes out with you and IS interested in you?...it will just be for a break from her bf..that I doubt she'll leave, etc....Don't even go there dude - won't be worth it - not for you anyway.

Umm...Go for it! See if she likes you. Taking her out to dinner. Make sure you pay too! Its worth a chance. She obviously doesn't like her boyfriend!
