My kid's school doesn't offer anything for breakfast. We can send a nutritional snack for the mid morning hunger pains for the kids though. As for lunches, usually they have 2 different main items i.e. hot dog on a bun, pizza, walking taco, chef salad, burrito, soft pretzel (which I don't understand), chicken nuggets, Max cheese sticks (another one that I don't understand) then besides tose choices there is usually a fruit and a vegetable. Then there is choc, white or strawberry milk to choose from. The school will open an a la carte line after the actual luch line is through that offers treats like fruit snacks, ice cream bar, popsicle, etc.

My child's school offers Hamburger, pasta saled, green beans, fruit, rib bites, veggie sticks, corn, spaghetti, grilled cheese sandwich, tater tots, But I have to say the only time my child eats cafeteria food is when they have pizza, hot dog, chicken sandwich and chicken tenders. Other than that he takes lunch to school. The cafeteria food is not as good as when we were growing up. I remember I use to love eating at school. Now I see the food they have and even though the menu sounds good. Ounce you see the food!!! You think to yourself what ever happen to good cafeteria food. I see lot's of children throwing away all there food. So you could only imagine they don't eat until they go home. I'm not saying all school's offer the same, but I do recommend checking out the food before you let your child eat off of it..

They always have several items.
For breakfest they serve bagels, pastries, and fruit juice/milk.
For lunch the first week of each month my daughter school serves:
Monday:Chicken Teriyaki dippers, seasoned rice, grean beans, warm breakstick, chilled fruit or juice. Milk
Tuesday: French Toast Sticks w/warm fruit topping, sausage patty, Hash Brown, chilled fruit or juice. Milk
Wednesday: Choice of hot or cold sandwich, seasonal vegetable, Nachos w/salsa, Chilled fruit or juice, frozen dessert delight, milk.
Thursday: Special... what ever the lunch lady creates.
Friday: Stuffed crust pizza, assorted toppings, mini fruit and salad bar. milk.
Our school has 4 weeks with different meals like this that they rotate through each month.

Our schools do not offer breakfast. My 2 sons are in grade school and I'm a middle school lunch supervisor. The food service company serves the most unhealthy food, the kids love it but I can't imagine their cholesterol levels. Everyday they have pizza, cheeseburgers, chicken patties, hot dogs, french fries, ice cream, cookies, snack cakes, nachos, pretzels and toaster pastries.Needless to say my kids don't buy very often.
