DEFINATELY NOT.

This is a reference to Revelation 2:9 and 3:9. Both reference people who "say they are Jews and are not." Regardless of religious affiliation, a Jew is one who is decended from Jews -- one who is born that way (a gentile convert is never called a Jew; he or she is a proselyte).

I think your confusion really lies with a misunderstanding of Romans 9:6-7, which tells us:

"6 But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, 7 nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed shall be called.”

Here, Paul writes about Jews who are not part of the promise because they've refused to accept Jesus Christ as Messiah.

HOWEVER -- we must note the distinction here: Paul does NOT write that these unbelievers have ceased being Jews; in fact, he upholds the fact that they are Jews throughout Romans 9, 10 and 11.

So to whom does the refence in Revelation 2:9 and 3:9 pertain? I think we should take Jesus' statement literally: there were people who lied, calling themselves Jews when, in fact, they were not. There are even some today who do the same thing: anyone believing Replacement Theology is guilty of this sin, since they believe God has given them ALL the blessings and rights that formerly were given to the Jews. This is a disgusting, unscriptural belief that is to be avoided at all costs.

Peace.

You mean synagogue? The verse in Revelation that mentions the synagogue of Satan was written when Jesus' followers thought they were still Jewish. It was sometime before the rift between Judaism and the newly emerging Christianity. It was a reference to Jews who portrayed themselves as fully Jewish, but in reality didn't follow the law, were uncircumcised, etc. "The Hebrews in Israel are not Jewish..." What does that mean exactl? 75% of Israel follows the Jewish religion. The rest are made up of Christians, Muslims, and Druze. So I don't agree with you.

I think that they were. That they are, I don't know. There has to be a change of heart somewhere. God has not forgotten the Jews. There are all kinds of prophesy dealing with this.

So to leave it at saying that they are the synagogue of Satan would be a little presumptuous.

Oh, grow up! There is no Satan in the Jewish religion because the concept of Hell is quite different than the Christian concept. And I think Islam needs no hell, because they have created one here on earth.
