ok, so i know why they are picketing, but i mean come on, do they really think picketing is gonna stop everyone from buying cheap food, clothes, etc... the fact of the matter is that they are fighting the wrong people, (the buyers) when in fact they should be fighting the people who work there. i mean think about it, if you took away the employee's, then what is wal-mart to do? cave in to the demands of the employee's, duh. as far as the buyers, or consumers, heck, im sorry about thier healthcare, etc... but i need to save my cash just as much as the next guy, and wal-mart is the place to shop.

While these people do have an American right to picket, you are correct, they are wasting their time because people will always shop at Wal-Mart. I wish I had enough free time to stand out on the street with a sign, sheesh! Plus, I don't understand the idea behind picketing at all; if you don't like a company, don't work for them or buy anything from them! That's it! It's not like they are holding a gun to your head saying "You have to work for us and make our products" or " You must shop at Wal-Mart, no where else."

Every one pays for Wal-Marts cheap prices. Your tax dollar is spent to give them the health insurance they need. Look at the list of top ten richs people in america 5 of them are from the Walton family the owners of Wal-Mart they can afford to treat people better.

wal-mart is seriously concerned about its image problem, because there are a lot of people who refuse to shop there because they know their products will come from slave laborers in economically disadvantaged places in the world.
The problem is that it's very difficult to find places where you know your products do not come from slave laborers. But at least we know not to go to Wal-Mart.
If their employees unionized, they would all be replaced. There is enough unemployment in the U.S. to replace a lot of Wal-Mart employees, and these employees will never be able to create the kind of national-level organization to prevent Wal-Mart from sacking all the dissidents. If you know anyone who works there, ask to see his/her contract, in some places they're not allowed to unionize. Wal-Mart's hiring practices are famously awful, with so many stores all over the world they have no female executives and literally only a handful of females in management, at least as of a couple of years ago. I don't feel like researching it now, but I'm sure a quick Google will show you this information.
Also, Wal-Mart's famous RollBack of prices was done by cutting payment to their supply chain... people on the raw materials side often ended up contractually obligated to sell at Wal-Mart's price, which didn't cover their own costs and destroyed the lives of a lot of people.

Here is another view. Look at the senior citizens Wal-Mart hires, that no one else will hire. The government took the seniors social security money and placed it in the general fund, so the seniors are getting shortchanged, and have to work to supplement their income from S.S.

Wal mart has a high degree of responsibility for your countrys amazing and almost unbelievable, international debt.
If only China, out of the many, asked America to pay their debt, your country would be in ruins. (Worse than now). This is the reason the Chinese "peg" their money (yuan) to the US$ so tightly.
I am so glad my children were not born in the USA.

Should we all protest by shopping at the mall and paying higher prices. I say no. Go to K-Mart instead. I don't know if they treat their employees better, but if someone doesn't start shopping there, they'll go under pretty soon.

I suppose it is your right to shop there. You should check out this video. I wonder if they sell it there?
edit: Interesting. They don't sell the movie, but you can order this book. See second link.
