why do cats raise their butts when you pet them? even the male cats. are they all homo's?

No, there is a scent gland at the base of their tail, just above the spine, and it feels good when you scratch it:)
Judging by the rate at which they reproduce, I think it's safe to say they are NOT homos, lol.

They have incredible nerve endings and muscle structure in the tail area. It's like how good a back rub feels to someone when they have been moving heavy boxes. They use those muscles alot.
