I am a firm beleiver in natural selection, the weak die out the strong survive. And yes before you start, I am aware this sounds a bit Nazi and I felt awful for even thinking the idea for a long time. What the Nazi's did was wrong but if people are meant to die then they should, if they cannot have children then they should not receive treatment as there are polent of healthy children in the world that get left in the gutter when they need a good home.
Disease has a purpose, it is the only thing (apart form war) that controlls our population and advancing medical science is stopping that. Sometimes I think that a global war that wipes out half our populaiton is the only way to save the planet, as the world governments wont do anything about climate change until its too late. Either that or we all live in caves.
It sounds awful and I hope this doesnt really happen but this world is overpopulated.

You have a point. The main threat to mankind (not the planet!) is overpopulation. Not saving the starving people in those dusty countries won't help. Stopping people here in the west breeding new consumers will! We're going to run out of food and fuel, way before the planet frys us!
So bring in laws and controls to stop people from having kids, I recommend we start with preventing ugly people from reproducing!

When I hear a comment like this I think of Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings....I'll try and quote it here the best I can....
There are those who died who deserved life, There are those alive who deserve death. Can you give it to them? Don't be so quick to deal death and judgment.
You say that its the population that's the problem, when earlier you said it's the consumers of the products that harm the environment that are the factor. Do you really feel the poor in third world countries could have used all that hair spray, gas, oil, and other petroleum products, or was it the healthier, wealthier people? In countries like yours.

Yes the population is growing quickly and strecthing the resources of the planet and causing a lot of pollution, that doesn't mean the unfortunate should have to suffer without aid so that the rest of the world can drive their 4 x 4's and cool down with their air conditioning and have factories produce all the crap we have the oppotunity to buy. Maybe you should help the cause and offer yourself as a sacrifice to help in preventing global warming

The US government is "helping" us by requiring poisons to be put into our tap water and banning anyone from the country who cures a disease. I don't think population is our main problem here in the United States. China, however, is a different story.

Oh my. Hun, you have the wrong idea about this.
"why ae we trying so hard to save everyone when we are running out of space to put everyone." That does /not/ mean you let innocent people just drop dead because we're, in your words, running out of space to put everybody. Overpopulation is NOT the problem here. That is one of the most rediculous things I've ever heard. Think about this - say your mother has cancer, /your/ mother, would you be willing to let her die because there's not enough room for everybody? JEESH WOMAN! Yes, death is a normal part of life. You let it happen when it happens, you don't choose sick people and kill them off because they're closer to their death than others....!!!!
YES THE REAL REASON FOR GLOBAL WARMING IS CARS, CFC'S, ETC. PEOPLE JUST HAVE TO USE LESS OF THEM. NOT FRICKEN DIE!
ugh.

Not really.
Global warming isn't really caused by overpopulation, since relatively small portions of the population produce vast amounts of greenhouse gases. We are hardly running out of space in a global sense (certain pockets are full, others are empty).

Lets see, if it was your Mother or Father, who was starving, I'm SURE you would want to 'save' them, wouldn't you?
(Simple rhetorical question as I know you would).
So, why shouldn't we want to save others? We "are" our Brother's keeper! Would a Father not give his son a loaf of bread, instead of a rock, if his Son asked for food? Sure he would, if he is any type of Father....
So, are you going to decide who lives and dies?
Would you tell a Mother or Father that your sorry that thier child couldnt live today, because your saving the Planet? I think not...Unless you were heartless and cruel.
This Planet, if managed right, can support billions upon billions of people. Its "we" who mismanage it wrongly, and mess up everything and starve our people out and decimate them in Wars and other ways. We are our worst enemy!
There is a lot of farm land that is not being utilized, because the Government tells the farmers to "lay off" the land and pays them to do so, so the prices will stay inflated for thier product.
Governments intenetionally STARVE thier people, like North Korea and in South Africa, because they dont want to have them live, because its not "convinient for them" to support them, and let them die off...(genocide).
Each Government is responsible to thier people to take care of them, and see that they have a chance to flourish.
Mismanagement runs rampant, and will cause people to die.
I wish you well..
Jesse

I tend to agree with you on this one. Natural disasters occur to balance out the population and, if we try to save these people, it's having a negative effect and not actually reducing the population.
Yes, it's very sad when there's a disaster but, hey, sh1t happens and, unfortunately - 'that's life!'

A well thought out question... would you like volunteer your death to reduce space on this planet. After all it is always good to lead by example.
If you do not want to volunteer then you are nothing but a selfish vampire coz what you are doing is trying to find solace at other peoples misfortune.
