i guess this would be a tough question to answer, because of the individual male/female balance of everyone is different. feminine principles exist in everyone. just as masculine principles exist, too. there are a few questions that one can ask the 'self' to let the need to be in control go. control is masculine. the questions are asked at the beginning of your day and are: where would you have me go? what would you have me do? what would you have me say? and to whom?
giving up the need to be in charge allows the female side to naturally come forth. it gives the day a gentle flow without expectation. gentle is feminine. keep the questions in your mind throughout the day. letting the 'universe' guide you, is an amazing way to feel free and in balance without taking much effort to achieve. joyfully, greet everyone that you see throughout the day as if you are meeting them for the first time, this can open up the female nurturing side by not carrying the 'past' around, but bringing in a 'new-ness' that leaves old judgments and old ways behind. these are both ways to lighten the heart, reduce stress and free up the feminine. i hope this will help. peace to you

I love this question. First of all. If you are a straight man, it will not come naturally ~ "getting in touch with your feminine side". I can understand to some extent why it's a good idea to understand where women are coming from and their ways of thinking, however I think it's wrong to try and make a man behave metro-sexual so to speak. Good luck with this one. I know how hard it would be for real men to do this.
Women deal with emotions while men deal with facts. Not to say that men don't feel things, but they are much more practical in dealing with problems.
If a man wants to help out a woman, one thing he must do is be very paitent and learn to be a good listener. Women feel the need to express so much of what they feel and want men to really hear what they are saying.
Even as a woman myself, this drives me nuts.
Women always expect men to be in the mood to "talk".
Our brains are just wired differently. My best advise is to grab a copy of Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus.
It is a great guide into the opposite sex and would help you a great deal.
Good luck with this one. The simple fact that you are seeking information on the subject shows that you are a very mature man.
Take care and don't forget who you really are inside.

Typical liberal B.S.! I think the problem is men not acting like men.
When they try to act like both a man and woman that's when they have problems. Men and women were created differently for a reason. The best way for a man to benefit from the feminine side is to be a strong man and marry a good woman. Together the whole is greater than the sum of the parts and greater than a man trying to be both!

I tend to agree that if you are a man, you should be one. But you have to know for sure what a real man is - not a bullheaded, egotistical macho idiot. Getting in touch with your feminine side, in my humble opinion, means getting in touch with someone who is truly feminine and knows what it means - then opening your mind to the wonderful possibilities of what happens when "yin" and "yang" get together to create that beautiful whole circle. That's not to say that you shouldn't understand the inner parts of you that some might say are "feminine" - receiving, listening, waiting, following someone else sometimes... your own inner "yin and yang". Read up on it. You're on the right track.

TURN BACK!! These types of 'aterations' are killing the real American machoman! There is no feminine side to a NORMAL man. Helping people can be accomplished as a man without the need for gender transformation.

it sounds like a question for Jungian theory, the integration of the Anima and the Animas
anima=female archetype, produces mood, guides our actions based on emotions, allows us to be more social and conscious of our relations to things and people
animas=masculine archetype, rational force or guide in our lifes, exacting, judgmental, agressive

yea, look on the side of the women too...sometimes being too masculine means being too autocratic...well, that's the way i think 'bout it...like feeling womans feelings... understanding them the ways on how they try to make effort for men....
