Test the hair and see if it is human hair or synthetic hair. If you take a piece of the wig and use a lighter to burn the ends you can tell the difference, a synthetic wig will bubble up and actually melt, a human hair wig will smell like burnt chicken feathers and just burn. I would not recommend coloring a synthetic wig, it would mostl likely ruin the wig. If it is human hair, you can color it. You could also try and bring it to your hairdresser, I know I have had many clients bring in wigs for me to color, cut and style for them.

You can only dye the wig if it is Human hair, if it is not human hair, the chances of the dye turning the hair different colors, and possibly completly ruining the wig, are extreemly high.

yes you can dye a wig...but it also depends on the type of hair..synthetic hair ..don't try it..the hair will melt....if the hair is real human hair..yes it can be done..but very carefully..the peroxide in the color has to open up the cuticle of the hair ..to deposit color...if the wig is synthetic..there is no cuticle ..nothing to open up..but real human hair has a cuticle..and yes it will open up but sometimes its slower than actually hair on your head ..you have built in heat on your head..you should really watch the wig very close...or better take the wig to a professional ..especially one good with color and let them help you pick the color that will match your aunt natural hair..hope this helps and prayers are with your family...
