Use Campho-Phenique cold sore gel. You will see a big difference over night. A small one will heal in a few hours. Put it on the cold sore as often as you think about it. And its not pricey. I wouldn't be caught with out it.

Don't use regular chap stick during the time that you have it, that might spread it some more. If you use something like Carmex it would be a lot better because you can put it on your finger and then wash your hands. Using a tube chap stick you are re-applying the infection every time.

Cold sores are the herpes viruses-complex 1 I believe-the quickest and most effective method is to get a rx of Valtrex from your doctor.

My Boyfriend gets those all the time. He uses that abreva. It's pricey but it works. Also someone at his office told him to take Lysine everyday you can get it at GNC. It's supposed to make your outbreaks less frequent.
