I tried Sensodyne for a long time and it did nothing for me. I couldn't eat ice cream, drink anything cold, or even brush my teeth without using warm water. Then my new dentist brushed on a flouride gel treatment one time, and also gave me a prescription toothpaste called Control-Rx, which costs about $10 a tube. It has been an absolutely life saver and made a world of difference -- now I can eat and drink anything, hot or cold. I used Control-Rx for about two months steady, and then I was able to taper off to using it only a couple of times a month -- my dentist explained that over time the flouride "plugs" the pores in your teeth that expose your nerves. I can't recommend it strongly enough.

Sensodyne is formulated for sensitive teeth (has special ingredients) and it certainly worked for me but you say you can't feel the difference. Sticking to Sensodyne for some weeks may make a difference. More importantly, a dentist can deal with the underlying causes of your sensitivity, if there are any. Needless to say, regular brushing and flossing will diminish sensitivity, and the regular use of an anti-bacterial mouthwash.

as long as it has potassium nitrate in it, then it doesn't matter what sensitive toothpaste you use. You can get sensitive toothpaste from the dollar store and get the same effect as you would if you paid $4 for the tube.

my dentist told me that all sensitive toothpastes have the same active ingredient, potassium nitrate, so save your money and buy whatever's cheapest.

You can't compare a man to a woman. Each is different. But a man, and a woman, complement each other. In other words, one man and one woman (together) is one unit. They are a complementary pair.
