in my opinion it is because Men have a certain standard to live up to,they feel they must be the Dominant one in the relationship, women are the weaker sex therefore they must be a manly man and protect us and show no sensitivity toward the things that bother us women,it has been been beaten(sometimes litteraly)into men for centuries that being sensitive is a bad thing, never show your real feelings, shut up that crying or i'll give you a reason to cry, that type of thing...it's not thier fault dear...love him for who he is and try to be understanding, there is a sensitive side in there somewhere you just have to work to get it out,it's kind of like taming a wild animal once he trusts you,you will see a different side of him that he wont show very often but it's there

Define insensitive. Because they don't act like your girlfriend or respond to something exactly like you doesn't make them insensitive. Because they don't cry as often or as easily as you doesn't make them insensitive. Because a lot of men don't know how to comfort (you learn this from your parents), doesn't make them insensitive. Because they have been rejected or ridiculed for showing feelings in the past, therefore they have put up walls around their feelings, doesn't make them insensitive.
When it is said your boyfriend/husband should be your best friend, it wasn't meant to be taken that they should be your girlfriend. There IS a BIG difference.

It is a defense mechanism, to keep women or others from seeing the real person inside. All men are taught at a early age to be strong, don't cry, do not show fear, etc.
So to keep from sharing our feelings and look weak, we appear insensitive. Sorry, I hate it when I act that way, I hope that all men are not that way, but it appears that we are.

I don't know that they are. I do know that many men have a hard time communicating and expressing themselves on an emotional level (other than anger, it seems).

Let's be honest...women say they want men to be more sensitive, and yet sometimes...when they are...we find it really unattractive.

In general, the poor dudes just can't win with us.

I think Peace has given a good answer
you should try and find some time and then think about what he has said and what would be the right way to go about putting it right

because its not "macho" for them to express their feelings. guys aren't as emotional or as sensitive to other people like girls are so when someone starts to cry...its not a big deal to them cause the truth is that they don't really know how to handle tears. immediate comfort doesn't come naturally to them. its the laws of nature. but don't worry, there are some guys who who'll give you a hug when you're down! :)

Because women want us to be that way. If women would quit dumping guys for looking like total wusses when they cry, those guys would cry. If women would stop sqrewing guys who treat them like crap, guys wouldn't treat women badly. But women don't stop doing those things. They probably never will because they are STUPID!

I think it's part of what they think is "BEING A MAN". They think they HAVE to be that way. But a real man, has a tender side too.
