If you just want to catch them fish in the fall. If you want to eat them . Fish them late spring to mid summer. Do not keep any over twenty-four inches. When they get larger they store a large amount of fat and have a muddy taste.

you get lots of eels in summer but bigger ones in autumn. try dead baiting for them ones on a ledger.
