NO it's not true! but since you are eating other parts of the bodies then why not let others eat what they like cos those animals are already dead. but they shouldn't kill them just to eat the brain (which i think some do).
but personnally, for me it's disgusting to eat any other parts except the meat.

it is true. But brain is not a magical food - actually it is rich in fat and cholesterol so not too good for you - and also clearly, you don't gain any "brain powers" by eating it.
What IS true, however, is that prion-based deseases (such as mad cow, or its human equivalent, Creuzfeld-Jacob disease) survive the death of brain tissue and even its cooking, and digestion, so eating the brain of a human or animal with such a disease risks transmitting it to the eater.
So better to keep brains off your diet. Even though in some countries, pig's brain, or sheep's brain, are quite popular delicacies.

They don't eat it for brain power, it just happens to taste really good. However, I agree that it shouldn't be eaten, for health reasons (mad cows, etc), plus it is rather gross. Of course, we eat the rest of the poor animal, so the fact that it is the brain makes it gross in our mind, practically why would it be different to the animal?

well, in a lot of countries they also eat brain because it tastes good... i'd be worried about it for medical reasons, cjd and all that, but morally it is no more wrong than eating a chop from the same animal...

Lambs brains actually taste good, I would eat them (crumbed and pan fried with some butter) even if it doesnt help my brain.
