Irish citizen working in France, need to apply for a work visa outside the EU while using my first passport.

In the UK, frequent travellers to places that need visas before entry are allowed to hold two passports at once. I presume it is the same for Irish nationals.

However, you do not need your passport while resident abroad if you do not intend travelling. You should make the Irish/British embassy in Paris your first port of call.

if you have an irish passport that is valid still, then you cant apply for another passport unless it is lost or stolen. but if you want to apply for a passport for nationality purposes..ei:uk..under the uk immigration law you qualify, then you can apply for a uk passport. but you cant have 2 irish passports. also visit your closest irish embassy or consulate.

i don't think you can but have only one valid passport standard worldwide
