Arrange to meet up with him and a group of mates at a bar or club. When he texts you asking to meet up just say "Cool, I'm goin out with friends on friday, why don't you an your mates join us?". Just on a random night out. Not only will you be able to get to know this guy better as a person, but you'll also be able to put some distance between the two of you mentally if you wanted to. For example not giving him any special attention when you do go out. He should get the message. If not, then you just talk to him straight out an tell him that there's nothing more than friendship there. Take it or leave it. Just don't pull his best mate though. Do that, and you're on your own =p

Just tell him that you are not looking for a boyfriend or anything serious right now. Tell him that you prefer to be single but would enjoy being friends with him, but thats it. If he freaks out or something or does the whole psycho guy thing, dont ever talk or text him again.

Tell him the truth just say in a very nice way I am not interest in you. Because when you tell him your just busy that just tells him that there may be a chance.
You need to let him know that there is no chance at all of you two hooking up.

Well you really don't now if he likes you but if you don't to talk to him then just tell him that you need some space and time that you are sorry, but if you want to be hes friend just tell him that you only want to be hes friend not a other thing OK well good luck.

Just let him know that he seems to be a nice guy and all but you just aren't interested in a relationship with him.
On a side note,I guess to ask why you gave your number to a guy that you apparently are affraid of is redundant.

Well from a guys point of veiw if you don't know him well the best thing is to tell him how you feel . don't wait he will think he has a chance with you. just be honest and tell him how you feel. Just don't be rude about it unless he continues to want more.

just tell him - "i'm very busy lately, do not have time for a relationship, barely have time to see the people that are in my life rite now" - do it sooner than later cause if you don't you may be sending him the wrong message like you're playing hard to get or something like that.
