The tone of answers from the bulk of Americans answering questions related to Israel, Palestine, Lebanon is nothing less than sickening. The USA Press must be so biased to spread so much vicious hate I am glad I no longer live there. I do not condone any violence no matter who the perpetrator is and I do not support other countries interfering and supporting either side morally of financially.
I honestly believe that if Israel did not have the support of the USA the problems in the middle east would have been over ages ago
It is a war of retaliation each side blaming the other unfortunately Israel tends to over kill there actions and responses. The Palestinians do not have tanks, helicopters and fighter planes and unfortunately have volunteers prepared to die for there cause Like the Kama Kazi pilots in the 2 world war.
I live in a country that is now governed reasonably well by people who were once regarded as communists and terrorists. These political leaders are now respected world wide as true statesmen. MANDELLA & MBEKI

I disagree with your theory that the middle east crises between arabs and Jews would be over if the US didn't support Israel. Israel and it's inhabitants are very resourcful people. Unlike there adverseries, they enjoy higher education and have their fair share of professionals, i.e. doctors lawyers, scientists, engineers, weapons designers, weapons makers, etc.. In addition, they have a fairly good economy that is not reliant on the US for subsistance.

After 2000 years of being forced off their land, they have come back to reclaim that land. They didn't shove the Palestinians out, but there was so much distrust and acrimony between the two factions, one had to go. That was the Palestinians who will continue to live like gypsies rather than develop an accord with the Israeli's.

In the meantime, the Palestinians allow themselves to be led around by the nose, by any arab faction that will share their hate for Israel. They allow themselves to be used and minipulated by other countries, but yet, never offered enough help to regroup, so they can once again, become a people with a land of their own.

Saddam Hussien, when he was still in power, offered $15 thousand dollars to the families of suicide bombers who would go into Israel to blow up Jews. There were many takers, and I'm not sure if it was for the money or for the cause, but it does illustrate the evil perpetrated by others, on the Palestinians.

There is true evil in the middle east, and the evil is at the top, in these countries. Syria has a leader in Assad who is like a thief in the night. He is the architect to many atrocities in the middle east. Hezbollah for one, insurgents in Iraq for another, unrest and assinations in Lebanon, yet another. And. I'm sure there is much we don't know about. He, or his dead @ss sire, are more than likely the planners of the 1983 bombing and murder of the Marine barracks in lebanon.

If there is a leader that must be eliminated it is Assad, along with of coarse, his Persian cousin, Manmoud Ahmedinejad.

Wars have been going on in the middle east forever. Israel and Jews have been attacked forever. Wars will happen in the middle east regardless of US influence or help. Just look at history. As long as there are violent fanatic people that are unwilling to become educated human beings well then there will be wars over there regardless.

lmao. Mandella and Mbeki?? Respected world wide as true statesmen? lmao. You have to be kidding me. I never even heard about these guys until like 3 years ago and the first story that I heard about them was that Mbeki didn't believe that HIV led to AIDS and that he thinks AIDS is caused by malnourishment.

As for backing Israel. I think it is our duty. They are a brave nation surrounded by islamic freaks. I think that in a way Israelis are a lot like Americans and we feel a connection to them. Abandoning them would be like leaving your kid out in the woods alone forever.

I am glad to hear you are no longer in my country. I hope you went to France. They share your distaste for violence. So much so that they rolled over at the first sight of the Nazi Army. Good thing us "warmongers" were there to bail them out.

If the US had not supported Israel they would not exist. How do you feel supporting something that would result in genocide?
