I heard that some jewish religions have to have sex using a white sheet,
a hole is cut into a white sheet, and only the woman is allowed to see the mans penis, that the woman and man cant really see each other fully naked??
is this true??just curious. what is the significance of this , why , how, and when do they do this ???
i heard this twice from 2 different people so far.
i heard it in 7th grade from my frinds elementry school jewish teacher explained this to them,
then i heard it from my cousin couple years ago

It's not true. Its a myth!!!
It was said regarding Ultra Orthodox Jews. Using a sheet for modesty. Not true!!!
As appose to Christianity, sex in Judaism, is not a sin. its a good deed. The Rabbi, who is the religious leader, suppose to give the congregation a good role model and have a lot of children. As appose to Catholic leaders that spouse to abstain.
Of course, in Orthodox Judaism, sex suppose to be inside the marital contract, but nevertheless sacred. And that is why, between husband and wife - sex is blessed!!!

Well, this legend has been told for centuries and it confuses some of the Jewish people too (since it has been told about the ultra ultra orthodox Jews, and nobody really knows how they live like).
The answer is no, anyway.
On the contrary- it is a Mitzvah, enjoying sex with your spouse.

yes, in the very Orthodox Jewish culture. It is done out of modesty. Sex is to be for procreation, not recreation. There are others areas in the middle east that also practice this custom. some used to even hang the sheet out after "proving" she was a virgin.

i thought it was another culture that did that also but i did see a movie where the girl lay naked under the sheet with a hole around her pubic area and i thought how weird since they were married shouldnt he get to see everything.
