I didn't know until recently that by law we can refuse these shots for our children...I believe there is a special type of form that you have to submit to the school... ask your childs' pediatrician or your local health department!

Children who have not had all their shots are not allowed to return to school until their vaccinations are current. Basically, your child will have about 10 days of kindergarten before the mandatory eviction happens. In my former school, if after receiving the written notice and a phonce call from the school nurse explaining it all, a parent returned the child to school without vaccinations, the police were called to explain the situation. Children did not come back after that without shots.
Home or private schooling would then be your only alternative.

One of my daughters had a bad reaction to one of her vaccines. So what the doctor did was break it down to smaller doses. When she entered school it looked like she had 17 doses of one vaccine but in fact it had been broken down into 1/4 doses. She never had a problem with the smaller doses and she is the smartest of my three children.
Without the vaccine she would not have allowed to enter school or any day care. I did what I felt was best for her at the time. She had to get 4x the amount of injections but she remained healthy and was able to attend school.

If you don't want to vaccinate your children, home school them. You have no right to put your beliefs about PDD above the welfare of your children or the rest of the children attending school. Kids are vaccinated to avoid widespread epidemic. How would you like to be held personally responsible and financially liable if you didn't vaccinate your children and one of them caught the measles and passed it on to all the children at his/her school? Vaccination is done to prevent that exact scenario. The school system has to make decisions and act in the best interests of ALL the students. If you are that selfish that you insist on putting your own interests above those of everyone else, then you shouldn't be allowed to enjoy the benefits of public education and should be FORCED to home school your children.

if you don't give your children vaccines, you are a terrible parent plain and simple. sorry it sucks to hear, but it's irresponsible, and ENDANGERING the welfare of your kid.
there's no conspiracy at work, it's a basic scientific principle of vaccination. Vaccination isn't causing autism. It's just not, whoever told you taht is full of it.
Get the kid vaccinated. Every time I hear of a kid dying of measels or polio, I think what terrible parents he had.

I've known several people who have claimed its against their religious belief to have their kids vaccinated. I think its something you have to file with the state? My opinion is still undecided on this one, I've heard legitimate arguments for both. I don't have kids so I haven't really researched any of them. But I do wonder, who has the right to force you to do anything to your kids?
