Hands down the best stuff we have ever used is Nature's Miracle. It contains an enzyme that completely "eats" away urine, feces, vomit, blood, basically anything organic.

It's a sure way to get the smell OUT not covered but gone for good.

When you apply the stuff you spray it on (think like a cleaning bottle with a non aresol nozzle) or you sprinkle it on using a watering can...it all depends on how large of an area you need to cover and how "deep" the smell is in. In your case, I would suggest using a watering can and sprinkling it over all areas involved (including the walls).

After applying it, LEAVE IT ON...do not try to soak it up. For it to work, the enzymes need to break down the urine. It may take several days for the Nature's Miracle to do it's job...but when it does, the scent, the stains, all traces will be gone.

You must get it on all areas. Use a blacklight if you have to find all traces of where they have sprayed (much more user friendly method then putting your nose to a wall hoping to smell the urine...ISH).

Also, while the area is being treated...cats OUT. Nature's Miracle is not harmful to your pet in any way, but if they smell traces of their urine, they will most likely "go again".

Natures Miracle also makes a product just for cats called "Just for Cats Nature's Miracle" and is designed to not only remove the smells/stains permanantly but to discourage the cats from resoiling the same area (I have no personal knowledge of the discourage part but the rest works better than you could hope for).

Nature's Miracle is the number one selling pet accident remover on the market. It's available at most pet stores and is easily found online. I have tried the "cheaper" imitations and never been as pleased as using Nature's Miracle itself!

Good luck and make sure you follow the directions of ANY product you end up using for best results. GOOD LUCK!!

for one.. you will NEVER get that smell out of your carpet. it goes down into the padding and on the wood under that and will stay there. I have a male cat and he use to spray all the time. I used oxy clean, amonia, urine gone, and others and nothing worked. We recently ripped up the carpet in the livingroom (this is where it was happening) and the padding. scrubed the wood under that and we put hardwood floors down. We did this in July and have not had a problem since.. also change the litter box 3-4 times a week. cats like there littler box to be clean. it makes a HUGE difference. since you rent i would ask your landlord if he can replace the carpet or if you could. I would ask..

There is a product at Walmart called of all things OUT!
Out has active bacteria that eats the bacteria in urine and leaves a pleasant lemony scent. Not really sure how it works but it really does at my house (2 dogs, 1 cat).

Windex helps, and animals don't particularly like the smell.
They also sell an enzyme stuff at just about any pet store that will completely kill the odors and remove the stains. Try www.1800petmeds.com

There is a seller on ebay who sells his formula for this problem and it does work amazingly. I dont know his name but you can probably get it doing a search for "cat urine formula" or along those lines. The formula is inexpensive household items.

Go to the pet store when it opens and get "Nature's Miracle". It's in a white bottle with red writing. It's the best because I say so.

Go on line and search for 'Pee Be Gone'. It really works! It is scientifically made to attatch to the molecules of the urine and destroy them.

go to the pet store and get some nature's miracle (it's a white bottle with red lettering) that will get rid of odors and deter the cat from going in that place again.

there is a product advertised on tv called urinegone or something like that. of course, it's probably just a typical "as seen on tv" bogus scam product. but if you get desperate enough you'll try anything :)
