In the UK penalty points are effective for 3 years from the date of conviction (which is normally the date of the offence) but remain on your licence for 4 years. You can apply to the DVLA to have points removed from your licence after 4 years.

I am sorry we don't have THAT in the Phils. If you got a ticket for speeding or any kind of traffic violation, you are issued a TCT (trfic citation ticket) that serves as your temporary license for 1 week, then you can retrieve your license after paying the penalty.

Four years before you can have them removed (for speeding only) but some insurers only ask for any convictions in the last 3 years, so you need not mention them.
