does he want it? is yes, why not? as long as the lesson is fun and kept short.

I started learning how to play the piano when I was 6 years old. The studies normally last for too many years, and I hope I will manage to take a certificate soon. I think music is sth that is worth going in for. You know, music exercises the brain and relaxes the soul. I believe the piano is the "king" of all the musical instruments, so, if your son is interested in learning and willing to study, he's old enough to start.

Any age! When thechild expresses interest in music, piano or other instruments, then it is time for education. Some children may like to play at younger ages and some at older ages. Too many times as a music teacher, I have seen parents force children to take lessons and usually it doesn't work out. The child does not have an inclination nor aptitude for music. So parents watch your children and listen to them. They will let you know when they are ready to learn.

I believe if he honestly has an interest in playing the piano, then yes. But I wouldnt push him to, if he doesnt want to.. I dont think it would hurt him at all. I took lessons as a child and wasnt into learning how to play the piano, although my sister took lessons and is very good at playing. I think you should expose your children to piano playing and piano in music you buy.

If he wants to. It is better to develop a natural talent than force one upon him. My son wanted a keyboard, we got him a training one (Casio) and within 90 days he could play back all the songs provided on it. He now plays in a youth band, and we have since spent the money on him a Korg workstation.

If your child has shown any interest, then feed that interest.
When my youngest took lessons, we did it on the basis that she had to complete 6 months before she could stop. She didn't stop for several years and is quite an accomplished pianist.

Only if your son loves playing piano, otherwise if you forced him to learn he will feel very pressurised.

Oh!
that's easy.
Ask your child if he really wants to learn.
If he is not interested, let him go by his own way!

Ask him if he wants to play. you can never know if you dont ask. If he is unsure then I advise you to get him a few lessons with a nioce teacher and to see if he lieks it. If not why not try another instrument? Or wait until he is a little older and he might change his mind.

I he seems even a little interested then let him and then give him the option to stay or not--let him know he can decide but you think he may have the potential.
