Its not the best thing to drink. It does contain a lot of sugar and caffeine. But its not like you will kill your baby either. I think once in a while is ok, everyday is not an option however. You need to eat somewhat healthy

Diet drinks of any kind are unhealthy for an unborn child. The caffeine is not the problem; it's the artificial sweeteners like phenalalinyne (sp) and aspartame. Those chemicals can do more damage than caffeine.

As far as caffeine goes, if you're prone to get headaches from caffeine withdrawal, drink a regular Coke. The baby will have more stress from your headache than problems from the caffeine.

Diet Coke is never safe. If you are going to drink pop, drink the real stuff, and do so in moderation.

Try to eat all natural foods (buy REAL certified organic when you can) and drink clean water when you are pregnant. Consider purified water if you can't be sure of the contents of your water. Stay away from anything that lived in water -- fish from the ocean in particular.

Again, never drink Diet anything, anytime, ever.

Sorry, but water IS the best thing for you while pregnant.

Your body is making all the fluid for the baby to live in, and it gets recycled every 3 hours or so. That's a lot of water.

You can drink herbal teas like mint tea or fruit flavored tea if the taste of water is giving you trouble, but it really is hugely important to drink plenty of water.

Can you try diluting some fruit juice to gradually get used to water? Or drink water with a bit of lemon?

Drinking filtered water might help. Tap water with chlorine is NASTY. Filtered water is better for you and tastes much better.

I drank diet coke while I was pregnant with all three of my kids and they turned out beautiful and smart. There are much worse things that you could do. I did cut back on it a lot though as it was all that I drank before I was pregnant. It is okay to treat yourself to it. Maybe try to drink water along with it. I actually got so I craved ice.

Any artificial sweetners are a no-no in pregnancy. You are better off with the real thing, if you must have it. Keep in mind the caffeine and phosphoric acid leach calcium from your bones, and will for baby as well. Avoid soda if you can. You will also increase your chances for developing gestational diabetes if you drink soda.

Try to have drinks w/o caffeine. You can have
1 diet Coke (caffeine free) a day, but carbonation
is not too good when you're pregnant.
Natural fruit juices is a good idea.

anything artifically is not great for a baby, so keep the diet coke to a minimum, maybe 1 a day at first then cut it down further.
you and the baby need calcium, if you don't have it in your diet, baby will draw it from your bones, teeth etc, so add milk and cheese to your diet. fruit juice for vitamin c is good in the morning too. checking with your health care worker/doctor is the best bet for diet advice while pregnant, they shouldhave all the latest advice. good luck with the baby

You should stay away from artificial sweeteners, safer for you and baby. Drink lots of water, some fruit juices, and some of the new veggie drinks or veggie/fruit combo drinks are yummy.
