Its a simple matter of configuring your mixer wave/mp3 device set up and to direct the music to whatever recording software you have.Not knowing what software or card you have wont net much help!

I recommend jetAudio because i created a lot of albums by capturing.
There are a number of options in it.Includes recording it to different encoders,equalizer etc.........
The recorded sound bags the same quality as the original,you cannot found which is the original.

you can play an mp3 in winamp and use the diskwriter plugin to record it out as a wav file or something, if that's what you're looking for.
