Not right away. You'll have to become a citizen of the US to get a US passport. Usually a straight legal immigrant needs five years residence in the US to become a itizen, then apply for a passport, but if you marry an American, you need only wait three years to become a citizen. Marriage alone does not confer citizenship or passport. Marriage does not even give you a right to live in the US. If you marry outside the US to a US itizen, you still have to go through the immigrant application process, and if you marry a US citizen in the US, you may still be denied the right to live in the US.

There was a time when someone from a foreign country could marry an American and immediately get all the rights of citizenship. It was being too abused, however, because so many people from less than desirable countries were marrying Americans JUST to get the citizenship papers, so the rules were changed.
When a foreigner marries an American now, they must PROVE that they have lived together as a married couple for at least one year (it may be 2 years now... there was some talk about that). Until that test period is over, then foreigner can not get American citizenship OR an American Passport.
Still planning to marry an American?

You will not automatically get American citizenship when you marry an American. However, you can get a passport from the American embassy in the country you are in to allow you to travel with your spouse. If your spouse is military for instance this can be done by the base human resource center. You do not get a full U.S. passport unless you are an American citizen and even with an American spouse, it can take over 5 years.

You need to be come a permanent resident first. After three years, if you are still married, you can apply for citizenship (5 years if you get divorced). Once you become a citizen you can apply for a passport.
