Colored Hair Care
Here's some tips to keeping your color vibrant:
24-HOUR LOCK DOWN
Color fade alert starts as soon as you leave the salon. You should wait the prescribed 24-hours after you color to wash your hair. It takes that long for color to set. Plus the detergent in shampoo can cause dye to seep out prematurely.
BE GENTLE
After you get your new shade, your hair will be more porous and prone to breakage and split ends. Minimize damage by using shampoos and conditioners specially formulated for color-treated hair. They are gentler and more moisturizing than regular formulas. These special hair treatments also contain sunscreens and antioxidants to protect color. If you blow dry your hair look for products that have heat-activated moisturizers to prevent further dryness.
PUMPED UP
If you have fine hair, coloring can do your hair some good by adding volume into the strands. By roughening up the cuticle the coloring process creates body and depth. If your hair is course you'll need to use a daily moisturizing conditioner and a deep-conditioning treatment at least once a week!
COVER IT UP
Sun is hair color's worst enemy (followed by chlorine, salt water and harsh shampoos). A hat is your best protection against solor assaults; leave-in conditioners also seal the cuticle and work to keep color true.

Don't wash your hair everyday, use a special shampoo for colored hair, and try to avoid direct exposure to the sun if you go to the beach.

get yourself some redken color extend shampoo and conditioner. if you don't know where to get this...google redken's website. i believe it is www.redken.com
there you can locate a nearby salon selling redken products. you can further protect the color by using redken total recharge as a weekly treatment and see about getting a leave-in conditioner for added protection.
